Lift, eat, repeat - my fitness journey

I'm real. I'm imperfect. I'm flawed. I'm quirky and weird. But I'm me - and that's the only person I ever want to be.

Our bodies are the most incredible gift we've been given in this life, and if treated right, they will take us through life and help us achieve anything our hearts desire!

I originally turned to fitness as a way to bridge the emptiness I felt when I quit dancing (15 years strong). Leaving something that had defined my life for so many years affected me greater than I thought it would. Without a routine in my life I strayed from fitness completely. I developed unhealthy eating and drinking habits, not caring what I consumed, or in what quantities.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I regret that period in my life, because I don't. I was happy and I was living my life; it was amazing! But it got to a point where I noticed that it was affecting me in a not so positive way anymore. I was unhappy and thinking back on it now... a little depressed.

I decided that I needed somewhere to channel my energy in a positive way, push boundaries, challenge myself, and get back into making myself a priority!

I changed my eating habits by forming sustainable ones and eating balanced meals (80/20). I started a workout regimen and regained control of my life and my body in the most beneficial way. No tricks, no shortcuts, just clean eating and exercise!

Where I starting seeing the most impactful changes, was when I started strength training. Despite what rumours you may have heard, lifting heavy will not make you bulky! The most notable of the many incredible benefits include fat loss, muscle definition, increased calorie burn, and improved metabolism! So side note from your coach... never be afraid to swap out those lighter weights, for more challenging ones. If you want change, you have to be willing to work for it - get comfortable with being uncomfortable!

The result: I realized what a profound impact motivation, determination and commitment can have on oneself. It wasn’t just the physical transformation, but everything else that came with it! The satisfaction of simply setting a goal and working hard to achieve it, the positive change that I experienced on my life, and the incredible amount of self-love I gained for myself.

My drive, love and appreciation for health and fitness, led to my certification in Sport and Exercise Nutrition (Precision Nutrition, Pn1) in 2015, as well as Personal Training (National Academy of Sports Medicine, NASM) in 2017.

Fitness has become my ambition and my motivation and I've always been completely obsessed with food, so it's been my challenge and goal to re-invent the food scale and let the world know that it is 100% possible to be healthy and fit WITHOUT having to sacrifice food! I spend my days exploring, re-defining and applying food and fitness in my own way. I find it helps achieve progress and keeps things exciting at the same time.

I live to motivate, inspire, and enable people to feel the same love for health and fitness that I do. It's so important to fall in love with, and be PROUD of our bodies , because loving yourself is the greatest revolution. In this life, there aren't many things that we have control over; our bodies, are one of them.
