6 WEEKS TO YOUR STRONGEST RUN

Every runner knows that they need to incorporate strength and mobility, but so few stay consistent to it – which leads to injury, frustration, or simply a lack of progress.

After years of helping our members overcome injuries and build strength to enjoy pain-free running and improve their overall performance both outside and inside, CrushCamp is proud to present Calgary’s first-ever comprehensive run development program. The 6-week challenge will include targeted strength work, scientifically-backed mobility exercises, and a tiered run program developed by Lululemon Run Ambassador and Boston Marathon finisher Jeff Shikaze, all combined with the accountability of a community challenge, and capped with a live 10K race on August 9th to measure your progress and celebrate crushing your goals with your fellow challengers.

Whether you are lacing up for the first time or have a dozen medals hanging in your closet, this 6-week challenge will offer you the accountability, coaching, and support that you need to become the strongest runner you can be.

Coaches who care

At CrushCamp we know that in order to succeed you need accountability! This comes from your fellow challengers and expert coaches. For this specific challenge we brought in run specialist Jeff Shikaze to add his expertise and guidance to your runs.

a Supportive community

You will share this journey with your fellow challengers in your corner, connected via a private Facebook group and weekly group coaching sessions. Because you never know who has already experienced what you are going through.

Run your way - your pace

Complete your runs on your own, with a buddy, or with the Wolf Pack Run Club. The runs are for time, not distance so you can choose your own pace. This is not to say that we won’t push you to get stronger, faster and better.

We all know that there’s more to running than just running. You need strong, stable muscles in order to succeed. This is where CrushCamp comes in, we are runners at heart and know the foundations you need in order to get better safely.


MEET YOUR COACHES

Jeff Shikaze

Personal Bests - 10k (36min), Half Marathon (1:16) and full marathon (2:53)

Jeff Shikaze is a local Lululemon run ambassador and a run lead for YYCRunCrew. He became an avid runner in 2015 when he completed his first half and full marathons. Since then, RUN has become his passion and he has run 8 marathons. Two of his best accomplishments were participating in the Boston Marathon and finishing 9th at the SeaWheeze half marathon, both in 2019.

He has hosted many run-focused fundraising initiatives and events, and even started his own business (Chase Pack Project) centered around chasing one’s athletic goals. He has been a member and ambassador of CrushCamp since 2018 and owes a lot of his running success to the studio. He cannot wait to share his journey and knowledge with so many new and experienced runners - hopefully inspiring them to start (or continue) their own running journey!

 

SArah muir

Sarah is our Studio Manager at CrushCamp and our hype woman! Her running journey started in her youth as cross training for soccer but grew into a passion. She found community and a sense of belonging as she continued her running journey. Her most proud accomplishments are the Jugo Juice 10K and the SeaWheeze half marathon in 2019.

Sarah is an active participant in our Wolfpack Run Club and is there to support your goals as well as crush her own. She was a long time member of CrushCamp before joining our team and we’ve been lucky to have her in the pack. She is excited to share her experiences with so many new and experienced runners!

This challenge is all about supporting your team mates and the power of community to create accountability. Facebook is the most accessible platform to allow that community with no additional cost to you, so in order to be eligible to complete the challenge, you will have to participate. It’s super easy to create a free profile - we can help if you don’t know how!

I’m not a CrushCamp member - can I still participate?

You bet! While members get first access, the challenge is open to everyone.

What if I can't attend the virtual classes?

We welcome you to check out our mini-workouts and pre-recorded live classes on our YouTube page.

Can I join if I have injuries?

Absolutely! Just make sure you let us know so we can customize the plans for all your needs!
